Christmas Celebration

Christmas Eve is the day before christmas, christmas celebration begins on the
evening of December 24th. Christmas Day, is a day where all family's meet. Santo
Claus goes from house to house giving presents to children. Families gather around
the christmas tree in the morning, opening presents. Christmas includes many types of delicious meals. It is also known for candy canes.  Christmas is a day for worships and  blessing.
I wish you a merry christmas I wish you a merry christmas I wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year.
This song has a lot of nice memories. Every christmas day in Canada my class would sing this song. My teacher Miss Dell would put all are names into a hat and we would take turns picking out a name, and on christmas day we would have to get a present for this person. It was so much fun.

Twilight New Moon

This movie is amazing. I watched it a couple of days ago. Edward and Bella are madly in love.  Bella Swan's relationship with her hot vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen is getting better when Bella messes up again at her birthday party. Bella got a paper cut and Edward has to literally throw himself in front of her to keep her from being dinner for six hungry vampires. His entire family decide to leave to prevent any more harm from coming to Bella. Bella is so hurt and in pain because Edward left, until she renews her friendship with Jacob Black. Jacob is a good friend he helps Bella fix up two motorcycles and teaches her to ride them. Bella than discovers a dangerous truth about the identity of Jacob and his friends they are young werewolves. And even worse, they have been working to protect her from a vicious vampire.
Anyone that did not watch this movie or read the book you have to, you will really like it.

Khan El-Khalili

Khan El-Khalili is located next to Al-Hussein Mosque, one of the most famous mosques in Cairo. The ancient market is always filled with life, making it one of the most popular tourism spots to experience the Egyptian Culture. It is famous for belly dancing costumes, jewelry, scarves, spices and handmade copper – which is more commonly known as “Nahas.”Nahas has been in Khan El-Khalili since the early 1950s. Common Nahas products include gongs, ashtrays, lamps and plates.

However, this traditional item is facing difficult times. Due to the abundance of “Made in China” products, decrease in number of copper carvers and lack of government action has caused Nahas to be on the verge of disappearance. The true art of Nahas is gradually disappearing.

This was a final project that my group did. In this picture was the copper man and the people that were in my group.

Beyonce Concert In Egypt

Beyonce concert was a blast. Many egyptian people are  big fans of beyonce and could not wait for her arrival. Some egyptians were mad because they could not make it due to transportation and the price of the ticket.
Islamist Egyptian Member of Parliament Hamdi Hassan, part of the conservative Muslim Brotherhood, slammed the government for allowing a singer "who appears naked in her clips" to perform in Egypt, saying it was violating Sharia law. Sharia, or Islamic religious law, covers many aspects of daily life, including family, sexuality, hygiene and social issues.
But even though I could not go I love Beyonce and Im a big fan.

Baraka

Baraka is an incredable film, which contains images from 24 countries and 6 continents. It is a spritical film without a singal word. Baraka means "blessing". It shows us the nature and beauty of other countries. It contains images of how poeple workship god.it also shows us that all human societies adapt in similar ways. Although humans themselves are diverse, their diversity pales in comparison to the diversity of the earth itself. The Earth itself has achieved far more diversity than anything a human can imagine ” even aliens in science fiction are based on animals, insects and fish. The human cultural legacy is minute and our existence is naught but a blink in time. That being said, as we are a creation of the earth we do not owe it anything; because, as its creation, we cannot harm it. Of course humans are capable of destroying all life on the planet, but it would recover eventually, and in doing so continue to create new life.

Sexual Harassment In Egypt

Sexual harassment is one of the major problems worldwide, and especially in Egypt.
Types of sexual harassments include leering, whistling, staring at body parts, displaying pornographic or sexist pictures, invading someone's personal space (like a teacher standing close to a student), asking for sex, rubbing up against someone and telling offensive sexual jokes or stories
The most common forms sexual harassment in Egypt are staring, whistling, invading personal space and telling offensive sexual jokes.
Harassment has become a major problem in Egypt and is increasing everyday.

One of the campaigns that were done for sexual harassment is called Respect Yourself, launched to fight sexual harassment in Cairo streets. A campaign initiated by Egyptian journalist, Ahmed Salah, and the staff of a monthly online magazine, Kelmetna, encouraging Egyptian men to renounce sexual harassment. “Men should treat women the way they would like their sisters to be treated” – this is a statement that it well known in Egypt and that has been said to many Egyptian men in the society. This campaign encouraged youth volunteers to raise awareness of the issue by having face-to-face dialogues on the streets.

Arabic

This is my fifth year in Egypt. When I entered college they told me that I would not graduate college if I don’t pass Arabic sanawy amma. To me this was the worst news I have ever heard. I started speaking Arabic when I came to Egypt but to read and write it was impossible. I cried a lot and wanted to move back to Canada, but that was impossible. I’m starting Arabic classes and wish for the best.
A month ago I went to Al Khahera University to ask them about my arabic exam. Another shocking news, I only have one chance of taking the exam and that is in march. If I do not pass I will not be able to graduate. Im so scared. Im planning to study really hard in the vacation I hope I pass. Please pray for me.
My arabic teacher ran away. He does not want to return my phone calls. Im searching for an arabic teacher.
